THE SEARCH FOR JUDGES IS ON!
Organisers of the first ever British Barbecue Championships are on the look out for a colourful and enthusiastic line up of judges.
Contestants will compete in four compulsory categories and must follow strict rules and regulations. Five judges will score contestants in each category by five judges looking for taste, appearance and tenderness in the barbecued dishes.
If you fancy yourself as the next AA Gill and have a passion for Barbecued food why not become a judge? Entrants must be 18years or over and want to be actively involved in the experience of the championships.
The chosen panel will have a great day out filled with fantastic food, a beautiful town to explore, a full stomach and the chance to work with experienced chefs that have mastered the art of barbecuing. To enter to become a judge simply register.
What will you be judging? The Championship has 4 categories—pork ribs, chicken, pork shoulder and beef brisket. Any additional categories such as dessert or sauces do not form part of the Championship. Judging of these categories will be announced at a later date.
How does judging work? Judging is done by 4 tables of 5 judges. Each table judges up to 5 entries for each category, so each entry is judged by only one table of 5 judges. Each judge judges 5 entries for each of the 4 categories making a total of 20 pieces of meat.
